How well do you think information is relayed to you through higher management?
In most cases instantly and clearly. In my job as a game designer, information such as which style we should be aiming at when designing a game or feedback from our clients is significantly valuable. We use it to fine-tune the low-level design of the games we produce and reduce the chances of unforeseen risks during production. Our manager always keeps us updated simultaneously as soon as new information or messages get confirmed, and then discusses with us to come up with a corresponding solution or plan.
What training opportunities do you get by working at Virtuos?
All employees here get trained very well. In our department, between 2 projects, the ramp-up staff will be given technical training on new tools, engines, game styles, etc. Or we will organize a discussion to exchange new game concepts and ideas. There is also an English language training course for all Chinese employees, which greatly helps us improve our ability to communicate in English.
Can you describe your career growth at Virtuos?
I joined Virtuos in June, 2006 as a Game Designer, when I was assigned to assist two projects and participated part of the work. Then i was gradually being given more work till invovled the entire process of the project, such as Beowulf. Now to some extent I’m also working as a Team Leader for certain projects, which not only enhance my technical capabilites but also practice my management skills.
