How is your career development monitored at Virtuos?

Liu:
A formal evaluation is conducted every 6 months to review each employee’s performance and to set his or her goals for the coming 6 months. My line manager will then assign suitable tasks to me according to my requests. It is also a good chance for employees to raise our opinion and give feedback on our company. Apart from this, we also conduct a post mortem when a project is completed, to help us analyze the problems encountered during production and how we faced them, in order reduce risk on future projects. I also submit a weekly project report to my manager so that he can supervise my work progress. Other colleagues’ feedback will also be taken into account for future improvement.

Li:
I often have discussions with my Art Director about my career path and what I should undertake to one day become Team Leader. I can feel that Senior Management is really paying attention to the staff and respects our own attitude and aspirations. As I still need more experience, I am often acting as a kind of junior Team Leader: from time to time I can manage a team with a limited number of members. I think this is very helpful for me to improve my professional knowledge as well as my management skills.
