What was your favorite project at Virtuos?

I led a team to produce highly realistic 3D cars for a well-known top racing game franchise. I was given an intensive two weeks training directly at our client's studio abroad to study advanced techniques in modeling, texture and integration. By learning to use some of the latest cutting edge tools, methods and systems throughout this training, I enhanced my understanding of Next-Gen game production as a whole. It also gave me great benefits for my own professional improvement.

Can you describe your career growth at Virtuos?

I joined Virtuos as an Artist in April 2005 and soon got promoted as Assistant Team Leader. At that time, I mainly worked on a PSP project and gradually accumulated more game production knowledge. In 2006, I got promoted as an Art Team Leader, starting from leading a small team till now managing up to 10 people.

What do you enjoy in your work at Virtuos?

I like the open working culture in our company. My manager lets me arrange my work as I please and yet he is always there to give constructive advice whenever I need it. Many training opportunities are provided as well as chances to meet and discuss with experienced game production professionals, which all are benefiting my own career development.

What is the “Path to excellence”?

Yes. This program was introduced to the company in 2006. It is the way to help employees to develop their own career growth, which involves four steps, including mentoring, training, exposure and evaluation, to facilitate individual's success. I am very proud that I was awarded 'Best Virtuoso of the Year' as one of the two winners. The standard for the nominees are judged upon several criteria such as each employee's work efficiency, quality of work, management skills, etc. He/She must be motivated, enthusiastic, care about their own development as well as the growth of our company as a whole.
