ILM presents Terminator CGI techniques featuring Virtuos models at SIGGRAPH

Shanghai, August 4, 2009 –Industrial, Light & Magic (ILM) recently gave a presentation at the SIGGRAPH 2009 conference covering their breakthrough techniques in creating visual effects for the blockbuster movie Terminator: Salvation – techniques which utilized 3D models created by Virtuos.

Virtuos’ 3D Modeling experts from Australia and China worked with ILM to create 3D models for vehicles and airplanes used in the movie, as well as the new Hydrobot terminator. At the conference, ILM Animation Supervisor Mark Chu explained the new techniques they used to create the movie’s truck chase scene.

“The needs of the digital entertainment industry continue to expand – including the need for high-quality 3D models,” said Virtuos CEO Gilles Langourieux. “Virtuos is proud to have contributed to the stunning visual effects created by ILM.”
