Virtuos has established itself as a reliable partner for leading global game companies, boasting capable development studios at key locations worldwide. The company has been increasing its investment in the Vietnamese market by acquiring Sparx* and Glass Egg, two of Vietnam’s representative studios.
Sparx* and Glass Egg have participated in the production of numerous AAA game titles. A large number of global mega-hits that anyone would recognize have passed through their hands. They are also involved in games that are highly popular in Korea, such as League of Legends (LoL) and PUBG.
A Reliable Partner for Global AAA Titles… The ‘Vietnamese Giant’ with Over 1,000 Developers

To mark its 18th anniversary, Daily Game visited the Sparx* studio in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, last May to meet Christophe Cheron, Production Director at Glass Egg, and Huy Nguyen, Line Producer at Sparx*. According to them, Virtuos Vietnam is the largest and most capable game development organization in Vietnam in terms of both scale and development expertise.
“Sparx* started as an animation studio and built up its expertise by participating in numerous global TV and movie productions,” said Producer Huy Nguyen. “Since joining Virtuos, we have shifted our focus more toward gaming. We are currently involved in LoL, which is highly popular among Korean gamers, and are also collaborating with multiple Korean developers.”
Director Christophe Cheron added, “Glass Egg is also a studio that has built a reputation in the realm of game art, with a strong edge in vehicle and hard surface modeling. In the past, we were competitors with Sparx*, but after joining Virtuos, we have been collaborating closely. If you combine all the Vietnamese studios under Virtuos, we have more than 1,000 developers. We could say we are the largest external game development company in Vietnam.”
Meeting Client Needs with High-Level Expertise… Building Long-Term Partnerships of Over 10 Years
The Virtuos Vietnam studios are not just the largest in scale. With their long histories, Sparx* and Glass Egg possess a system capable of meticulously responding to diverse client demands through stable, high-level development capabilities.
“Our biggest strengths are our reliable, high-quality services and overwhelming scale,” said Sparx* Producer Huy Nguyen proudly. “With specialized teams in various areas such as character, environment, and cinematics, we can consistently deliver high-quality work fitting for AAA titles.”
The high-level development capabilities of Sparx* and Glass Egg have naturally led to long-term partnerships with various developers. Director Christophe Cheron added, “We have maintained a long-term partnership with the masterpiece racing series Forza for over 10 years. Our ability to fully support and work across a wide range of game engines used by major game companies is a unique weapon that other companies cannot easily replicate.”
Sparx* Contributes to LoL Development… Crafting ‘Faker’ Lee Sang-hyeok’s Worlds Championship Skin

Virtuos is directly or indirectly involved in the development of multiple AAA games worldwide.
As a result, studios under Virtuos Vietnam are also participating in the development of numerous global blockbusters. Notably, Sparx* is involved in the development of League of Legends (LoL), a game immensely popular in Korea. Producer Huy Nguyen, who leads the LoL team at Sparx, shared, “Sparx has been consistently participating in LoL development. We actually created the 2024 Worlds Championship winning skin for T1’s ‘Faker’ Lee Sang-hyeok.”
Producer Huy Nguyen added, “We are also involved in the development of KRAFTON’s battle royale game PUBG: NEW STATE, and Konami’s METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER, the latest entry in the legendary console game series.”
Securing Top Talent Through In-House Training… Continuous Knowledge Sharing Across Studios
Sparx* and Glass Egg devote significant effort to maintaining their high-level development capabilities. In particular, they consistently secure top-tier talent through in-house training programs designed to nurture young, capable Vietnamese individuals into exceptional developers.
“We run an in-house training program fully funded by Virtuos,” explained Producer Huy Nguyen. “Students take customized courses tailored to their majors, gaining firsthand experience of their future practical tasks and learning how to elevate their quality of work. We actively recruit those who graduate with outstanding performance.”
Various educational initiatives are also driven at the Virtuos headquarters level. Producer Huy Nguyen added, “Through initiatives like studio exchange programs, we actively share advanced technologies and know-how with Virtuos studios in Asia, North America and Europe. We are making multi-faceted efforts to maintain the highest level of development capability.”
Director Christophe Cheron explained that the shifting perception of gaming within Vietnam is having a positive impact on recruiting top talent. “In the past, there was a strong negative perception of gaming in Vietnam. Many parents would say, ‘Don’t play games, just study,’ but things have been changing recently,” he said. “An increasing number of young people view making games as a ‘cool job.’ Parents who grew up playing games themselves actively support their children when they choose to develop them. Game development is a truly high-energy industry in Vietnam.”
Ready for AI Integration If Clients Wish… “But Creativity Remains Our Priority”
Virtuos is one of the few places capable of adapting to almost any cutting-edge technology in game development. Naturally, the company is also steadily conducting research related to the application of AI technology, which has recently come to the fore.
That said, Virtuos firmly believes that creativity should take precedence. “Our priority is accelerating efficiency so our teams can focus on more creative work and help create even better games.,” Christophe Cheron expressed. “Gaming is and will always be a field driven by human creativity and vision..”
Eager to Join a Vietnamese AAA Title… Looking forward to Expanding Collaboration with Korea

Although Sparx* and Glass Egg participate in the development of numerous games worldwide, they have not yet collaborated with domestic Vietnamese developers. While the Vietnamese gaming market is growing rapidly, local titles are predominantly in the hyper-casual genre, which differs from Virtuos’s portfolio of largely AAA-level games.
“At the moment, Vietnamese developers haven’t made many attempts at AAA titles,” explained Producer Huy Nguyen. “There are Vietnamese games that have surpassed hundreds of millions of downloads, but because most are hyper-casual mobile games with relatively low content production needs, we haven’t had the opportunity to collaborate with a local client yet.” He added, “We hope to see a fantastic, Vietnamese-made AA to AAA games in the near future. It would be even better if we got the chance to participate in such a title.”
Director Christophe Cheron expressed a strong desire to be involved in more Korean games. “We already work with many Korean partners, but so far, our contributions have often been limited to smaller roles,” he said. “We want to participate in the development of more Korean games and take on much more significant responsibilities.” He concluded, “By collaborating closely with the Virtuos Seoul studio, we hope to contribute valuably to the success of Korea’s major blockbusters.”
