Singapore – November 2020 – Virtuos was proud to once again be a presenting sponsor for the External Development Summit this year, and a roundtable discussion leader at the all-virtual event which took place from 27th to 30th October.

Led by Jake DiGennaro, General Manager of North America at Virtuos, the roundtable discussion centered around a deep dive into the topic of Distributed, Global Workforces in the post-COVID era. As game developers look to the future in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the concept of the abrupt shift to remote development gradually becoming accepted as a potential boon rather than a hindrance if embraced. The roundtable discussion included personal insights as to how developers with teams spread across the globe have been navigating this challenging leap, what knowledge can be shared amongst peers to improve the ecosystem, a discussion on turning the risks into opportunities, and ways to generate buy-in at levels of an organization.

Being the very first all-digital XDS, the traditional showfloor was eschewed in favor of virtual booths powered by Frame VR. Virtuos took the opportunity to embrace the new format, using virtual reality to exhibit its range of services and portfolio, along with a brief overview of the Group’s background.

As a returning sponsor at XDS20 Adapt, Virtuos also brought back the Virtuos Café, with a barista guiding attendees through the process of making the perfect cup of coffee using a Kalita Wave Dripper and natural processed coffee from the Carmo de Minas Region of Brazil. The segment was also accompanied by a brief virtual appearance by Virtuos CEO Gilles Langouriex from our headquarters in Singapore.
